MS spokesman Faik Hoti has indicated that other measures will be taken for the national elections to be held in Kosovo, along with those applied in elections in Podujevo and northern Mitrovica.
“CEC under MSh/ The IKBPK and the manual for the prevention and combat of Covid-19 has organised local elections in Mitrovica's Podujevo in December 2020, the same rules apply even now only because these are national elections and are held throughout the country”, Hoti has said.
To see the implementation of the measures closely, 104 inspectors will be engaged, Food and Veterinary Agency spokesman Lamir Thaci has said.
We have about 90 inspectors engaged by the Health Ministry, and all of them are engaged only in monitoring the implementation of anti-Convidian measures, while there will be 14 agency inspectors employed earlier. All this number will be engaged on election day and working even on these days of campaign”, Thaci said.
Thaci has also indicated that they are in full co-ordination with the Kosovo and CEC Police over preventative measures.
The executive director of the Food and Veterinary Agency yesterday, along with Kosovo Police leaders and the CEC chairman, has held a meeting to co-ordinate activities precisely to monitor the implementation of anti-Convidial measures as in time of campaigning as on Election Day. We as authorities have expressed readiness that within the legal and institutional competencies stemming from the anti-Condavid Law and other applicable laws in Kosovo we will be on the ground every day to keep in check the implementation of measures by anyone who violates or unrecognition”, he has said.
“We are currently in co-ordination with the Kosovo Police. We are state mechanisms that are on the front lines of preventing the gathering from keeping distance and wearing a mask. And at this point we're developing activities from the early hours of the morning to the late hours of the night when the circulation of citizens ends. Police are imposing fines for physical persons, and we are imposing fines for all legal persons as violators of measures”, Thaci has declared.
Also, according to Thaci, just as they have acted in local elections in northern Mitrovica Podujevo, even in these elections, the agency's mobile team will work in preventing the anti-Condavid Law.
“We, even as in the elections held in Podujevo and north of Mitrovica, will do the same in these elections we will be on the ground with all our capacities. Initially, by overseeing the polling and giving tacit remarks to voters, be it for those working at the polls. We'll be with our mobile teams on the ground to prevent people from gathering” has added Thaci.
Thaci has called on all politicians to care for citizens' health, reports EO.
“We appeal to all political parties, all candidates for MPs that over any race and political cause lies the life and health of citizens and that they try in any case not to violate the measures imposed by the Kosovo Parliament itself and by the government's decisions of the Health Ministry Mechanisms because we, as supervisory mechanisms, will be uncompetible to any violators facing the ground we will be there and will utter punishment measures against them<1>, Thaci concluded for EO.
