This is the date when MPs' candidates will be certified

In the early February 14th parliamentary elections, 21 political parties, two pre-election coalitions and five civic initiatives will participate. CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi indicated that by January 18th, this institution will send for verification to six institutions, candidate lists for MPs, so that candidates can later be certified.
“The CEC will submit the application for verification if the candidates are in line with Article 29 of the Law for General Elections, and this requirement will be submitted to six institutions: to the Kosovo Judiciary Council, to the Election Panel for Ances and Parastre, to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence, to the Foreign and Defence Ministry”, Elez said, adding that they expect these institutions to receive answers by January 20th.
The CEC said the verification would be made to respect the Kosovo Constitutional Court's act on December 21st, as well as the Law on General Elections.
In the Constitutional Court's act, a person convicted of criminal offence with a decision of a formal form in the past three years can neither be a candidate for MP nor have a valid mandate in the Kosovo Assembly.
