Why will the Movement for the Union not participate in the February 14th elections?

LB in a media report says that with redefinition of borders it is vital for functioning of the state of Kosovo.

Despite that and, knowing that the alternative that the other political bloc offers will not be a solution, but procrastination and deepening of the problem, the Movement for the Union will continue steadfastly working to advance its idea as the only solution that solves the problem. Kosovo will hold general elections for the Kosovo Assembly on February 14th. These elections are being held in a situation when it is fully clarified that, in terms of the main political issue we currently face: talks between Kosovo and Serbia, there are two options in Kosovo. One option today consists of those for status quo or to “select” via “Association”, which would result with Kosovo fully dysfunctional state; while the other option is for redefinition of borders on the national belonging of the population to border zones, which would result in full deployment of Kosovo's sovereignty.

All parties representing the first option can now be said to be consolidated in a populist political bloc that, driven by lack of vision and political courage or electoral goals, have been constantly working on building a major fraud before citizens, under which the idea of changing borders is dangerous and harmful. Major contributions to the construction of this concept have also provided some of the major international factors, which for a decade have supported it without reservation. The size of this fraud has overwhelmed and greatly narrowed the racing space for the only subject with such ideas, Movement for the Union. Therefore this time, unfortunately, part of the elections will be only parties that have no solution to the country's main problem.

On the other hand, given this profound conceptual difference with the entire political bloc, the Movement for the Union, at this critical moment through which Kosovo is going through, despite its offers, you see it unreasonable to be in coalition with parties belonging to the bloc that talks with Serbia and possible solutions are viewed only through the populist eye and electoral results. Blocks that are stubbornly holding back the solution to Kosovo's biggest problem today.

To that end, the Movement for the Union considers it a very important moment for this political alternative -- the only one offering solutions -- to join as soon as possible all those who believe in it and thus turn it into a political bloc that would remove Kosovo from its serious state. status-quos in which it is today and would prevent harmful solutions for Kosovo and Albanians to come tomorrow.
