The Constitutional Court in Pec has placed a month in detention for E.K. indictees due to the suspicion that he deliberately introduced fake money in two exchanges in Pec.
He, along with others on the run, has agreed to commit this criminal act by exchanging fake dollars with euros, Klan Kosova reports.
“With the date 23.01.221, in two different exchanges, in Peja, after they agree to put counterfeit money in circulation and being aware of their quality, put into circulation as true, in a way that the same way after they had previously agreed, the suspect N.G comes into exchange and there is the exchange of US bills suspected of counterfeiting, for which the two exchanges in his name also issue on the purchase of the 911 currency.
The court has estimated there is doubt that the defendant has committed the criminal act allegedly and that in this case investigations are under way against other persons, who are expected to be heard before the prosecutor in the quality of the defendant, as well as witnesses heard in the case, so that with possible finding indictees in freedom, there is the danger that the same could affect the proper development of the investigative procedure, affecting defendants and witnesses with the intention of reducing or exclusion of criminal responsibility.
The court, the appointment of the detention measure, even considering the weight of criminal acts, circumstances, and the manner of criminal acts, show the existence of real danger that with the possible finding of defendants in freedom, the same could repeat criminal work or perform new criminal acts.
The court praised other alternative measures for the security of the defendant's presence in the procedure, but it estimated that no alternative measure would be adequate at the stage of the procedure.
