Early laboratory tests suggest antibodies caused by vaccines can recognize and fight new variants, reports the report. bc.
More studies are needed to confirm that this is true of people who have been vaccinated. The new variables have spread rapidly to a number of countries.
They have undergone changes or mutations that mean they can infect human cells more easily than the original version of the coronavirus.
Experts believe that the British type that appeared in September may be as much as 70 percent more transmitted.
Current vaccines were created around previous variants, but scientists believe they still have to work against those new ones, though perhaps not so well.
Researchers looked at blood samples taken from eight persons who had received two recommended doses of the Moderna vaccine.
The neutral antibodies made of the immune system join the virus and block access to cells.
Blood samples that were exposed to new variants seem to have enough antibodies to achieve this neutralization.
