The Civil Service Union has consistently expressed frustration over the treatment it has received, so said union chairman Mursel Zymberi.
On the other hand, he said the pandemic has caused the vital sectors not to receive additional salaries.
With the very fact that we have expressed dissatisfaction with the speculation that has been made in particular in recent times with the case of pandemic and the sharing of budgetary means of our taxpayers for specific sectors and the vital sectors that have really had direct impacts with citizens in time of pandemic and no additional pay has been made of”.
“ ... other sectors have been given this shows enough how civil servants have been treated and therefore I say we have a huge disappointment with the treatment of civil servants”, he told Online Economy.
According to him, Kosovo has done well on paper laws, but they are not being implemented in practice.
Zymber added that the jubilee wage in the civil service sector is only 25% of the salary, while other sectors receive a full salary.
Kosovo has done well with laws on paper, but they don't happen in practice because they're often uncompliable because we learn to be in Europe, but Kosovo circumstances require something else. Therefore, despite a public administration law on organising public administration in certain situations, benefits that are available to civil servants do not apply to”.
“Paga jubilare in the civil service sector gets only 25% of the salary, while other sectors receive a full salary. They take other sectors and don't get civil servants. These are money in the law. And often civil servants are forced to go to court to claim their right”.
