The Drensa municipality this year has been declared the first municipality for performance among 38 Kosovo municipalities, and President Ramiz Laddrovci says this assessment is the result of the work and co-operation they have had with citizens.

Ladrovci says he is ready to run even for a mandate if he gives confidence to the Democratic Party of Kosovo, until he is convinced he will continue to be at the helm of Drenas for the next four years.

In an interview for KosovaPress Ladrovci also talks about managing pandemic, helping businesses and citizens, as well as the projects we have just entered.

Ladrovci says he expects his work assessment from the party and that he expects them to run for a four-year term.

“E expect my work assessment from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, I fully submit to party decisions. If the party considers that I should continue another mandate, I will run even for a mandate, if it runs and wins that mandate will be the last term as mayor of the municipality because it will not run more”, he says.

He is convinced that he will have the trust of citizens to lead him for four years. He even adds that other parties, if 30 candidates come out, will win again.

The citizens of Drenas as far as I have information, are very pleased with our work. If you ask me if you're pleased with your work, I would say that I'm not because we could and we could do a lot more ... I don't discuss it, I'm pretty sure that the citizens trust me for a mandate even if they're getting 30 candidates out, I'm convinced that against the 30s I'm only making my own”, says Drrances' first.

The head of Drenas says they managed in the best possible way the COVID-19, but adds that even the municipality leading it has not been left to be negatively affected by this global pandemic.

It shows that as a result of pandemic, 19 businesses and 25 workers have been closed, losing their jobs. Ladrovci says that as a municipality, they have not been able to help businesses financially but have been relieved of all taxes.

Over the months when the country is facing pandemic, Ladrovci says that even the citizens of Drenas have come to their aid with food and hygienic packages.

According to information that I've closed about 19 businesses, while about 25 employees of those businesses are out of work... we've been getting businesses out of business, because first we've removed the operating tax, then we've helped businesses through different NGOs or through different international donors... we don't have a chance to help financially, but financially we've helped them get them off their operation tax, it's a great business tax that makes it easy in this direction”, he says.

Ladrovci says that even though they worked with reduced staff, they have managed to realise almost all the projects they have planned.

“There have been projects that have been planned that have not been implemented for non-resident reasons because you know that the budget in the Kosovo Parliament has also been adopted sometime in late March. Then the pandemic begins and we are not allowed to develop procurement procedures by the end of June and we are delayed in procedures, that we cannot develop projects. However, I'm still saying that we've developed many projects for the better of citizens”, he says.

It shows some of the projects that were carried out during 2020, until it points out that the construction of a sewage factory is a priority.

We've implemented very many projects in infrastructure, so we've developed road infrastructure, in sewage infrastructure, on sidewalk infrastructure. We've been very closely co-operating with KEDS on the electrification of the new power grid, so we've done a lot of projects. We've continued to clean up the rivers of our municipality, we've worked on the sewage system along the rivers, which we're trying to be the first municipality to remove the sewage from the rivers. So we're sending pipes or collectors along the banks of rivers so that no network of sewage falls on us, but it connects. We're thinking about building the sewage processing plant at the end of our municipality, where it ends up in the direction of Obilici”, Ladrovci points out.

There are about 1,000 and 70 people in the Drenas municipality infected with COVID-19. Over 550 people active in coronarys, while about 50 people have lost their lives by COVID-19
