Kurti has indicated that Kosovo should have the right to referendum.
Vetevendosje's chairman said that Kosovo will not cause third Balkan war in order for joining Albania to happen.
Kosovo's “Constitution says Kosovo cannot join any other state. Serbs, Bosniaks and others are citizens of Kosovo, but when Serbia wants to intervene in Kosovo's internal affairs, then Kosovo is a weak state to confront Serbia's hegemony. Serbia wants to create Greater Serbia as Belgrade pressures Serbs across Balkan states not to integrate. We want to have the right to referendum, we don't want to see any form of union violence. Kosovo should have the right to referendum, not necessarily to join Albania, but to have the right to referendum. If it is done in peaceful and democratic form then it is joining Albania and we will respect the outcome, but in no way will we launch a third Balkan war so that we join Albania”, Kurti said.
He has also talked about the dismissal of Agim Veliu and the attempt to declare the state of emergency by former President Thaci.
In March 2020, we started with a closure, but the former president wanted to declare emergency situations and he wanted to get the competencies of the state's leadership in his hand. He wanted power to transform Kosovo from the Parliamentary Republic to the Presidential Republic. He thought he was king, imagine that Queen Elizabeth called the police in Britain to disobey Prime Minister Johnson”'s orders, Kurti said.
The VV) prime minister's candidate said he is not ready to enter the dialogue to compensate Serbia.
“I think we should be honest about having a stand-up agreement, we should make demands on each other. Serbia has some demands for Kosovo as well as for us, and we put our demands on the table to have a fair dialogue. We should review 33 preliminary agreements with Serbia, so the agreements are not implemented. We need to close that chapter so we can move on. I am ready to hear the needs and requirements for Kosovo Serbs they are my fellow citizens, but I have to say I am not ready to enter a project where we have to compensate for the losses that have caused them in Kosovo. Tears on Vucinqi's face are not tears of ordinary Serbs, but tears of Serbia as a state that has lost Kosovo. Negotiations in dialogue are something that people should be beneficial, not politicians. We have to help people”, Kurt said.
