Kurt commemorates Skenderbeen through “Castle” of Kadare

Kurt has remembered Skenderbeun and the brothers Gervala of Kadri Zeka, via novel “Castle” of Ismail Kadare, while quoting a passage of this book.

Through a Facebook post, the candidate who learns to lead the Government of Kosovo has said that our heroes can never be forgotten, but, as he has said, we remember more precisely when we have the help of the high-level artist, such as Ismail Kadare.

Today is January 17th, the day in which our national hero, Gjergji Kastriot Skenderbeu, died in 1468, during whose defensive resistance began to crystallise Albanian political identity. On that same day, in 1982, martyrs Yusuf and Bardho Garvala of Kadri Zeka were killed in Germany.

I will remind them by means of our most prominent writer, Ismail Kadare, who for the genius strategist world-size Skenderbeun, writes to the novel “Castle”:

We knew that they would no longer send a penal expedition like what our George defeated in Torville, but the endless swarm of the world's largest army. Our castle was the first to wait for their influx. Throughout spring we strengthened its walls, rebuilt damaged towers, increased weapons and food reserves, and trained young people for war day and night. Finally came the news that they had started. They moved slowly.

In mid-June they crossed the border. One day later George came to inspect the castle. According to his permanent tactic, he would remain to fight outside the walls. Our heroes can never be forgotten. But we remember better when we have the help of the high-level artist, such as Ismail Kadare.
