Today Kosovo police turned another Serbian official to the border

The assistant director of the so-called office for Kosovo in Serbia's government, Igor Popovic, was barred from entering Kosovo today. “In the quality of assistant director of the Office, in charge of legal protection, support for local self-government and property and legal issues, Popovovic was barred from entering the Jarinje administrative crossing”, the statement said.

As noted, Popovic was scheduled to visit northern Mitrovica.

Kosovo Police members detained Popovic at the crossing and informed him after half an hour that he was not allowed to enter Kosovo and Metohija. The Office for Kosovo and Metohija shows that on Wednesday there is a new violation of the agreement on freedom of movement, and it is clear that this is being done due to the upcoming elections in Kosovo and Metohija, the anti-Serb campaign of provisional institutions in Pristina has intensified, but this cannot and should not be an excuse for violating international agreements”, said in the office's response.

In turn, Serbia reportedly will inform the mediators in the dialogue.

Recently, Kosovo has added stops for visits by Serbian officials.
