Pandemia Covid-19 during 2020 caused numerous problems in the country's economy. Many businesses were extinguished, and many others worked only for survival.
Various difficulties came from the company “Fluidi” from Gjilan, and especially in the plastic market and export to EU countries.
The director of this company, which deals with the production of non-alcoholic and energetic beverages, Fyzulla Mustafa, in an interview for Kosova Prees, says that restrictive measures for preventing Avid-19 contributed to the decline of revenues, however, adds that no workers have left or reduced their salaries.
“is a normal decline, compared to previous years. More than that, we've had a drop in gastronomial sector, products consumed in gastronomials are more down, about 30 percent, depending on the months. And lower family products, but we have also had a small increase in months past. Video: 0505.. It's been affecting exports, even there's a decline... about 15 percent of exports, but it's worked to the extent that we've managed to keep workers from getting away, not reducing salaries, it's been a pleasure for me, and it's another profit, right?
Mustafa says this company has about 200 workers, and besides helping out from the first package for economic recovery, they have not enjoyed any other kind of assistance from the Kosovo government.
While adding that during this period they have been forced into loans to commercial banks.
“The number of workers is over 220 workers. We as companies still haven't earned a cent from the government for business. All this has been achieved by our own strength by relying on loans different from commercial banks”, Mustafa has said.
He says the country's institutions should create a fund for economic development, but also any export subsidy, which would allow for easier cracks in local products on the international market.
The government must create a fund for economic development and enable low-interest and long-term businesses with no interest, for two years, three years, and then engage in interest with a relatively low income to be 1-2 percent. and offer businesses any subvention, for example export subsidies, it had to help Kosovo products burst out in European countries and beyond. For our company, I'm saying that with our products we're lying in some European countries, but as if we're at a price more convenient than in the cases of subsidy, we can lower our price and they'll come out at a lower price on the European market, which would affect the increase in sales. This would be a powerful aid to Kosovo businesses for any exports to subvention”, Mustafa has said.
Mustafa says the government of Kosovo should support businesses and local producers in various forms, so that production does not decline and the number of employees that would directly affect the country's economy will not diminish.
