KEDS not sitting back for Rugova

Intervention on the grid invasion there is especially challenging during the winter, in view of the rugged mountain terrain, where snow density reaches up to 1m. This makes it difficult for a measure of intervention because our teams can't penetrate with machines to decay, but they have to monitor the entire length of the line and carry physical materials. Thus, even the level of decay takes more time than in countries where lines are easily accessible.

Despite the difficulties of the terrain and harsh winter, KEDS has sent dozens of teams from all over Kosovo to weather any deterioration that has appeared there as soon as possible. The supply is done with difficulty, but no consumer has been without power for 40 days in a row, as claimed in the media.

The network, inherited in Rugova over the years, has maintained, strengthened and repaired. Even in the early years of operation, KEDS has immediately made rehabilitation of all traumas, as it has increased their number where the need was.

Last year, given the difficult operating situation, KEDS joined the Peja municipality in joining forces to build the completely new Middle Tension line, which will for the most part be underground. The cost of this investment amounts to over 2m euros.

It has started to be built at the end of last year, and this year it is envisioned to carry out a considerable part of it.

With the outcome of this investment, it is expected that external factors, such as weather or ground conditions, will have minimal or no impact.

That is a reliable fact when it comes to investing where KEDS, no more power grid problems. And this has happened in hundreds of Kosovo municipalities, including hundreds of thousands of consumers.
