Judicial Council today launches verification of candidate lists for MPs

If the KDR finds that people who have run for MPs have full sentences, the Central Election Commission should reject the certificate of participation in the February 14th elections.
Lists of candidates for political parties' deputies for the 14 February elections have included several persons convicted of bias in the last three years. Albin Kurti and Albulen Haxhiu from the Vetevendosje Movement have been sentenced on condition since September 2018 due to tear gas drop at the Assembly session.
Milan Aritonovic from the Serbian List is sentenced to 500 euros in fines by the court for false property reporting, as well as Initiative candidate Besnik Berisha, former head of the Department of Internal Affairs Manufacturing Division, who was sentenced to 6 months in prison on bail for “the discovery of official secrecy” in March of 2018.
