The arrival of COVIDD-19 in our midst changed everything. As the cases of citizens infected with this unknown virus increased, Kosovo clinics and hospitals only went and filled with patients. In this war the white robes were “the silent soldiers” on whom we had our only hope.

Until March there were few cases, the middle of summer came with a wave of explosion COVID-19 had to increase beds. In addition to the infected Infectious Clinic, the Intensive Medicine Clinic, Sports Medicine, the Internistic Clinic, and two units for cases of COVID-19 were created within Gynecology and Paddy. Hundreds of patients were also treated in seven general regional hospitals at the country level.

From the beginning of pandemic to mid-December on The Infectious Clinic called for ambulant treatment of over 15 thousand citizens.

So said the head of this clinic, Lindita Ajazaj-Berisha, who in a confession to KosovoPress, has indicated that about 11 percent of patients who have been lying in this clinic have lost the battle with coronarys.

The director of the Infectal Clinic says that dealing with this invisible virus has been a challenge, but they have managed well to manage the situation, thanks to the help of their fellow clinic colleagues.

Patients who have been treated COVID 84 percent of these patients have been released for good health, while 5 percent of these patients have been transferred to other clinics, and 11 percent of the cases have ended in death. We've had numerous cases of medical assistance that have been sought in an ambulance and we've had over 150,000 cases that during this period have sought medical help in the accession office. Infectious clinic... 0 2Normal that this year has been very challenging with many surprises given that it was an unknown disease with many unknown things, whether the routes of spread, the treatment, the diagnosis of these cases has become a self - sacrificing job of the health staff and other support staff where we have also had an anesthesiologists who have been in the Infective Clinic, we have also had help from doctors and volunteers... during this time we've worked for 24 hours, so that we've tried every moment for citizen to offer health aid to”, she stressed.

As he lists some of the challenges he was facing and continuing to go through this war, Ajazaj-Berisha says that among the most difficult times is the delivery of news to family members of those who failed to survive COVID.

She even says that when a patient is lost to the white robes, it is like losing a family member.

And this time of pandemic has been extremely difficult because of the fact that the family wasn't present and there were times when they were in self-insult and couldn't get out of the house and had to communicate this news and you know that even the tomb proceedings COVID-19 is different than other procedures, so it has been a very difficult moment for a family member to deliver such news... This is the most difficult part that we have experienced, and every death of every citizen has been as if the death of a family member and any loss of battle has been too severe even communication but also the confronting of”, she said.

And with patients in more serious condition, and they were frequent who did not survive, doctors from the Anesthesiology Clinic and Intensive Medicine were taken. The chief head of this clinic, Rexhep Jupliqi, in a story, says that at first the most severe cases were handled in Sport Medicine, but when the cases were added then patients were carried to Anesthesiology Clinic.

He says at the beginning of the spread that pandemic was more panicking, but now they learned to live with COVID. The court says this very unknown disease has been challenging for the medical staff.

If we compare the situation today and then when maybe there weren't two-three cases in Kosovo has had greater panic than today when there are thousands of active cases....17[1] One of the things that may have made you feel very bad is this communication of family information that no longer has in your life. The same is true of people with COVID, but with people with COVID, there is another issue that they are up to a more aggressive deterioration they are consciously themselves, and they actually find that it is slowly ending. It's hard how it's not heavy, even with patients when they're asking for help, but it's also hard to communicate with family members when they're communicating with them, he said.

In addition to those two clinics that treated patients with COVID-19, the Pulmology Clinic discussed people suspected of being infected.

Pulmologist Besim Morina has indicated that during 2020, there was an enzyme number of patients.

He shares the challenges he faced at certain levels, Morina says that in addition to the high levels of patients seeking medical treatment, his work made it even more difficult to do that they were primarily extremely serious in the condition of patients.

“has been challenging on several levels. First of all, it has been challenging that the number of patients has been much higher, we're talking about a number as much as in a normal state. We've had dozens, dozens more patients. The second that has been challenging has been that we've been working on smaller capacities than usual since there's been one of the doctors or nurses out of office. Never, not a day has been the entire staff in a state of readiness always been someone who was infected... except for the increased number of patients the weight of their disease has been very serious. Until before we've treated patients with poor health during the pandemic, we've been dealing with very serious patients”, he said.

Morina even says that there have been times when there have been basic problems whether oxygen security or a bed that for coronary patients had great meaning for living.

“It has been very difficult when we have faced more basic problems such as oxygen insurance, lack of a bed for a serious patient, and each steward has been challenging when it was also the peak of the recent months, but normally thanks to the commitment of the staff and understanding of the family and overcoming these difficulties because considering a fragile health system such as Kosovo has had if we hadn't had a greater commitment to staff and a family understanding we would have failed to manage without a singleness, he said.

Kosovo has registered over 52 thousand people from the beginning of the pandemic until the first days of January, more than 43 thousand have been healed, and over 1,300 citizens have died.
