Thousands of armed troops of the National Guard have already settled in Washington. Authorities are planning to close roads and bridges leading to Washington.
Meanwhile, governors throughout the United States have demanded that the National Guard assist local law officials and some American states have already declared a state of emergency, fearing that there may be protests similar to those on January 6th at the U.S. Congress, where five people died.
On January 16th, a man in Washington who had attempted to pass a police checkpoint was arrested, while a gun and ammunition had been found in his possession.
This guy was released later reported the Washington Post. He had told authorities he was contracted to work as insurance, but has forgotten that in the trunk of his car he had a gun and ammunition. The police later released him.
Throughout the United States, cities are preparing for potential protests.
On January 6th, supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump entered the Congress building in an effort to prevent the Certificate of Beden's victory in the November 3rd presidential election.
Beden will be inaugurated as president of the US on January 20th. The outgoing president, Trump, has said he will not attend this ceremony.
