Hoti warns return of reciprocity with Serbia

Hoti, at a joint media conference with Pristina Valley representatives, said that in September they will send textbooks to Albanians in the Valley. He was asked whether he would prevent Serbian texts from entering Kosovo if Serbia did the same with the texts Kosovo is planning to send there. The incumbent said that in such a situation, reciprocity measures could be returned.

When we started the process of dialogue, in the first few weeks when I took Government, we removed reciprocity measures and abolished the fee decision and what it used to be, which paved the way for the dialogue process. This is done by a certain deadline, for several months, and once this process is completed, either the process ends with mutual recognition, or we apply all reciprocity measures, without exception. Any move Serbia leads by us, we are right and will lead by Serbia”, Hoti said.

However, he said he does not believe there will be a need for such actions, while also mentioning visits by Serbian officials to Kosovo.

But I believe that with the involvement of international partners, we will not need to go to these extremes, but I believe that every day we are making progress towards the final agreement. You have seen that we have disciplined even some of the visits of Serbian officials to Kosovo”, Hoti said.

He has today received representatives of the Presevo Valley to design the work program for the Presevo Valley Office, which was formed months ago.
