Haradinaj stated that the referendum is not unrealistic, and that there is a possibility that Kosovo will be formed.
“If recognition from the five EU sides and Serbia takes place is in the interest of Kosovo, but if that doesn't happen, a referendum should occur, a status quo with Albania, form the Kosovo-Albania union. Union means a state, this formula exists, for example, America is a union of states. I think the first phase would be a 15x1> union, Haradinaj said.
That referendum is viewed as an option only if the EU and the US do not create an epilogue for Kosovo's membership in major international organisations.
We go west, together, the first option alone, and which is real, is the conclusion of this subject, we have to give this epilogue. We refuse to have frozen conflicts without borders, we are that three decades, too, do not accept partition as an option. I don't see the referendum if we don't join the EU, NATO, the UN and other organisations”, Haradinaj said in Kanal10.
As for Kosovo Serbs, who may revolt over joining Albania, have said they have elected citizenship, while the state of Serbia does not have the luxury of interfering with Kosovo's internal affairs.
“We speak as Kosovo for Kosovo, all neighbouring countries have chosen citizenship, our situation is the only one. Serbia does not have the luxury to do internal intervention in Kosovo. Because they are the very changing situation”, Haradinaj said. /Periscopi/
