The Frankfurt Court has handed the maximum sentence to Stefan Ernst for the cold-blooded murder of Walter Lubke, representatives of the conservative Merkel Chancellor's party of immigrants.
The life sentence was handed down to limit the reduced sentence. The author of the murder will remain in the cell at least 15 years. Marcus Hartmann, another right-wing extremist, was also convicted, but has only violated the weapons law.
The centre-right political representative was killed with firearms from Ernst, who admitted the crime in 2019. Lübke had lived in Kessel and maintained an attitude toward immigrants, especially Syrians, and became a target for xenophobic criticism.
