The chief of emergency service in Ferizaj, Segedin Fazliu, who was a caretaker doctor today when the serious event of a gas bomb explosion took place, told Kosova Press that of 13 patients who have been sent to KKUK, eight of them are in serious condition.
“Today after 2: 00 p.m., after a gas tank exploded, there has been an injury to about 42 patients who have received treatment here in emergency service. 13 of them after receiving treatment here have been transferred to the Clinical Centre in Pristina, where they are most
Specialising for the treatment of burns”, he said.
He indicated that patients sent to Pristina have suffered serious injuries, and the rate of burns is over 30%.
We've laid off about 11 patients in the surgery section their condition is out of danger for life, a number of them being released home. Also, some after receiving treatment have been released home”, he said.
Fazliu said only five of the injured in Ferizaj Emergency will need to stay at the clinic tonight.
The explosion occurred after 2: 00 p.m., at the time of the custody service, which according to Fazlius without even mobilizing health homes and aid from KSF, Kosovo Police and surrounding municipalities would not go out to treat patients.
Without the help of all of this, we would not succeed because the staff is too small to offer equal assistance to many patients”, he said.
