Faton Bislimi: The deal with Kurt only hurts Vjosa Osman

Democratic League of Kosovo MP (LDK) Faton Bislimi commented on Euronews Albania's agreement reached by Vjosa Osmani and Albin Kurti. He said the deal with the promise to vote as President Osmani is clear indication that Vetevendosje “conducted political deals at the expense of public posts”. Bislimi expressed regret over “subacting” from Osmani “of her political house” and “Ending the political cause” it had in October 2019. LDK MP said the deal with Kurti only hurts Osman. He said the Democratic League goes beyond all individuals except historical leaders, former President Ibrahim Rugova. In the face of the question whether to vote on the LDK as president, Bislimi replied that, overall, the League will not become an obstacle to creating constitutional organs and that the decision to vote “on a candidate from other parties” will depend on the LDK's governing bodies.

Reporter Esmerlada Mulaj asked him about reported media polls where the LDK is not expected to have satisfactory results, but Bislimi said expectations are contrary and that polls forwarded to the media are not accurate.

LDK MP rejected Kurti's label of the February 14th election as the <x0-referend popular”. He said the February 14th elections are simply extraordinary elections and that despite the Vetevendosje agreement and Osmani could not get enough votes to secure the government, nor the post of president.

Thursday's Vjosa Osmani formalised the pre-election agreement with Vetevendosje Movement. In a joint press release with Movement Speaker Albin Kurti, she addressed him as the next prime minister, while Kurti said she would re-register the post” implying that Vetevendosje will support her to become president with full mandate.

In the 2019 elections, Osman was a candidate for prime minister in front of Albin Kurti. Currently, as Speaker of the Parliament, she also holds the post of president following Hashim Thaci's resignation.
