Sailesh Mehta, a prominent lawyer who specializes in environmental cases, said: the link between migration and environmental degradation is clear. As global warming is making many of our planet uninhabitable, massive migration will become the norm. Air and contaminated water do not respect national boundaries. We can also prevent humanitarian and political crises from becoming existential crises. But our leaders must act immediately. ”

He added: “We have the right to fresh air. Governments and courts are beginning to recognize this fundamental human right. ”

These comments come after a decision by a French court, which is believed to be the first time the environment was cited as the case in the court for extradition. The case includes a person from Bangladesh with asthma avoiding France after his lawyer argued that he risked major deterioration in his health, and premature death, due to high levels of polluted air at home, writes Guardian, records Periscope.
