The Executive Director of the Council of European Investors, Emrush Ujkan, said the European Union plans to invest 9m euros in the Western Balkans.
But for sharing these tools, he says, they have no information in the Government of Kosovo. Wolfani says he has held meetings with EU representatives where he received confirmation of the separation of these tools, and then he has met with institutional representatives who were not in knowledge.
This is a fact and the EU has confirmed us, then it is to be concerned that we had a meeting with the Government in parallel with our meeting because they have little information about that 9 billion-euro plan for the Western Balkans. That's why you don't have information. I think it's pathetic. If there is any mobilization from this government it's not too late. And I'm sure there will be mechanisms to address the consequences of Covid-19 and we have to work on what's national interest in the country” he told EconomyOnline.
According to him, it is even disturbing that the country's institutions have shown no interest in the EU-led economic investment plan, because it says it depends on how many Balkan countries will work to convince the EU that need those means.
These all require work, and at this stage I suspect that someone has interest from the institutions to push forward that we consider relevant acts. What we have available is impossible to address all those approaches. I am sorry for the public opinion and private sector that despite what the European Union posted as the EU's 2021-2027 economic investment plan has not yet had a rise in consciousness to focus on them”.
We must keep in mind that the EU supports our country and other organisations, but on the basis of adequate programmes. We risk being too late and unprepared when it comes to sharing this budget. The economic investment plan is thought to be divided on the basis of a kind of meritocracy because it will depend on how many Balkan countries will work to convince the EU that need those”.
Wolfani has added that entry into the electoral campaign is hampering institutions in the country in the focus and implementation of the Law for Economic Regeneration.
He has even said that the Law on Economic Recovery needs to be worked until it starts to implement.
The law on economic recovery, I think, needs to be worked until its implementation. In the time period we're in and considering that we're entering the electoral campaign I don't expect to focus on it”.
“S at least we as the Council of European Investors are not well aware of these developments for a job that was not done or for the measures they are taking to prepare the plan for implementing the economic recovery law”.
