University Professor Avdi Smajlaj says Engel represented Kosovo better than our own institutions.
“Engel was a powerful voice that probably represented us better than ourselves at the international level... We see that Kosovo's international position has begun to fade. In the internal aspect we have not met expectations that have had the main sponsors of the citizenship of Kosovo”, Advdi Smajlaj said about RTV Dukagjin.
Even researcher Seb Bytyci says Elliot Engel's absence will be seen, but according to him our diplomacy must find other friends in Congress and the American Senate.
The Engel capture cannot be seen as a loss, however much a tool for Kosovo. Diplomacy has been neglected by successive governments in Kosovo. Relations with friendly states have not been cultivated. On the other hand, there has been no progress in securing new recognitions, and there has even been a loss of recognition... This shows that there must be a restar in diplomacy in order to cultivate relations with the friendly states”, said Seb Bytyci, records Telegrafi.
Engel in his recent speech to Congress had declared that Kosovo would have a special place in his heart.
