While stenos can also be treated with physical medicine and therapy, doctors in Japan decided that surgery is the best solution.
However, they were surprised when a scheme that took place shortly before the operation began saw a 7.6 - inch - long [7.6 cm] dig into the patient's colon.
Six days after doctors discovered what was in the colon, the man underwent surgery and the pain was removed. “The pain later disappeared and the symptoms did not appear in”, says the medical journal report.
