She has further said that the contributing factor in educational quality is the policy the Ministry of Education makes, specifically, the curriculums, which are not adequately understood by teachers in Pristina schools.
“are many factors that affect quality growth at the level of a school, municipality or country. I think the first is the professional development of teachers or the delivery of appropriate programs from the faculties which offer profiles which are dedicated to teaching. Depends on what do we get from the Education School because the priority for employment in education is this. With those frameworks we need to develop quality in our schools”, Shala told EO.
Whatever the quality, the policies made by the Ministry of Education specifically affect the curriculum and difficulties facing teachers during the application of the curriculum. We're witnessing that the curriculum has changed, but it's not been that much professional teaching development has been done in order to understand the curriculum properly, and actually this part of developing competencies is focusing more on developing skills in students except for results that are mandatory”.
Also, Director Shala has shown that, in terms of increased quality in education, this municipality has hired 22 trainers for the 5-day training of teachers.
“In the Pristina Committee, always in operation of quality raising, we have created a professional team of 22 trainers in various Kurdish fields to support teachers in implementing the curriculum, seeing that the Ministry of Education has not yet provided any support training for implementing the curriculum in addition to training the 5-day curriculum”.
“Already has changed the form of evaluation normally has had to be maintained for evaluation, new methodologies that have not been done. Seeing these challenges of assessment on the ground during our visits we have formed this monthly-based team meets with educators to discuss the problems they have in installing the resolution”.
Shala also sees the quality of diplomas and the age of educators as an obstacle to development in education.
There's a lot to do about raising the quality normally that we're not satisfied with. The quality of the diplomas received by teachers also affects the age of teachers. Education is a serious and teaching profession over the age of 60 few have the capacities of those young people”.
“ ... this is a problem that we are having difficulties in the field, whether in reforming the reforms we're making with the Ministry of Education, but also in access to students, school school school schools”.
The government must consider this part of early retirement in the future, and however, the teachers who have chronically ill legal grounds do not allow you more than 20 days to take a break. They must improvise to come to school and not contribute because of their health. Conditions in Pristina schools are relatively good, now except for the hygenic-sanitary conditions that are mandatory and conditions in class are already setting the internet in each school class of”.
It has counted as one of the contributing factors in quality and the advancement of professionalism in school directors for whom it has said it is not right.
While for municipal improvement according to Shala has formed the Association of Directors, where various trainings will be provided.
Also to advance the directors, we as the director of education at the municipality level have made association with directors. The purpose of this is professional development of school directors. We know that the director has to be a teacher or actually has a master in leadership or concludes an education training which is very different on the ground by seeing the difficulties of school management we've also got recommendations and requests from directors to do something like this”.
Where through this association we will provide training, workers, different meetings with school directors. Through the professional establishment of directors, we aim to raise the quality of the school”, Shala has finished.
