Dika for votes from the diaspora: We've verified the applicants before.

Central Election Commission Chairman Valdete Daka said this institution has already made verification of votes coming from abroad, this referring to the recent decision on votes by the diaspora.

Daka in an interview for Online Economy, has clarified that the decision taken at Monday's meeting to call all those applying to vote on the phone, is no violation, and it is the ongoing verification.

“The CEC, considering that the vote from the diaspora is easily vulnerable and very easily manipulated, has made a decision by which to verify all votes coming from the diaspora, will, respectively, establish the identity of applicants and assess whether they are applicant for registration as voters outside Kosovo indeed who have the legal right to vote or is voting on their behalf of”.

Verification in that form she said it is being done to eliminate any possible manipulation. Daka has mentioned that in 2017, Istog was listed after verifying that a large number of voters who have cast ballots have not been voters at all.

The CEC's chairman has added that the work has been practiced in the 2019 elections, as well as in Podujevo chairmanship last year.

“Even on the basis of these we've decided to do the verification because it happened to us that in 2017 on Istog it happened that we had a vote manipulate and PZAP after having made the verification of many voters has found that those voters were practically no voters and there were no voters, and that way it became a misuse of the civil right to vote, and that was one of the main reasons and, of course, given that decision, even in the practice where there are cases of a census perhaps 100 or so, and that is a question of you, of course, and that's the question of your vote.

We've been using it in the 2019 elections and in the 2017 elections, we've made the verification, but you came to the elections in Podujevo we've made phone calls and this isn't the first time you've been using”.

Verification will also take place by the votes coming from Serbia, Daka has confirmed, adding that they have legal obligation, broadcast Klan Kosova.
