The area of the Peterinje earthquake anchor has been hit by 374 earthquakes since December 28th, and even as many as 109 in the last two days, according to preliminary data published today by the Geosics Department of the Faculty of Sciences in Zagreb.
The first quake in the Petrinje area was recorded on December 28th, with a five-face force on the Richter scale at 06.28.
The strongest quake to hit Petrinje, Glina, and Sisak occurred the following day, December 29, 12:19, with power of 6.2, with a three - mile [5 km] eccender in the southwest of Petrinja at a depth of 11,5km, the Hina agency reports.
After that quake, until December 31, the area had hit 265 earthquakes stronger than a scale.
On the eve of New Year's Eve, the area was rocked 69 times, and by January 2, 40 earthquakes were recorded.
