Costett: We will not force the people of Kosovo to accept agreements they do not want

Kostett claims that the exchange of territories has failed since the beginning because they did not want it in Kosovo.

I don't want to spend much time now thinking about the past, talking about the past. There will be other possibilities for this. But one thing that I think is important and that I think has been unchanged during American administrations, led by Democrats or Republicans, is that we will not try to force the people of Kosovo to accept an agreement that they are unwilling to accept. In terms of the exchange of territory, I understand very well why there has been much fatigue in it.

Over the past few years, we have repeatedly said that in Kosovo there is no desire for exchange of territory, so it is failed from the beginning. Rather, everyone in the preliminary administration has said that if the people of Kosovo and Serbia reach comprehensive agreements involving elements of border change or border regulation, then we would not refuse it without even considering it. And that's very clear from the saying that we're rushing to exchange territory.
