Coronervirus ' new varieties disturb experts

The United States is paying attention to the spread of the most contagious version of the Coronavirus, which was first discovered in Britain. British officials warn that this option could be even more deadly.

Two American officials said additional data is needed to confirm whether the option is actually more deadly.

Officials are also concerned by another version of the Coronobrianus, which appeared in South Africa, although no cases have been identified in the United States.

Dr. Francis Collins, adviser to President Biden for Coronaviros, said that British data is preliminary and that it is not clear whether the threat of British variant comes from mutations in the virus or from specific conditions in the British health system right now.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the Institute of Infectious Diseases, said in an interview with the MSNBC network that he expects to see raw British data before discussing the risk of mortality from the new version and that American officials are analyzing the impact that new variants may have on the effectiveness of the vaccine.

These comments come as President Joe Biden has taken a number of measures to empower the response to the pandemic. The president introduced his strategic plan to reduce the spread rate of the virus, as well as signed a number of executive orders to increase production and vaccines and increase inmunifications, as well as to increase the use of masks.
