The team behind the vaccine from Oxford and AstraZeneca is conducting studies to adapt technology to the production of new versions of the vaccine.
The University said Oxford was closely monitoring the impact of new species of coronary discovered in Great Britain, South Africa and Brazil, and was assessing the necessary processes to adapt vaccines as soon as possible to combat the mutations of Covid-19.
The Oxford vaccine targets the same protein, increasing the hope that it will be able to cause an immune response to humans and be able to neutralise mutations in the new version.
