“Constitutional Decision”: Albin Kurti and others to be sent for verification at six other institutions

Under the recent decision by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, Albulen Haxhiu, Donika Cadaj-Bujupi, Faton Topalli and many others convicted of criminal acts even on condition will not be able to run in elections to be held in January or February next year, so at least the connoisseurs of justice cases have said and interpreting the country's Constitution.

In 2018, the deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, Albulen Hadziu, Faton Topalli and Donika Cadaj-Bujupi were sentenced on bail for throwing tear gas into the convent's environments.
News that lists with the names of candidates for MPs will be sent to five other institutions besides the Kosovo Judiciary Council, CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has confirmed.
“In order to implement the Constitutional Court's act and the Law for General Elections will co-operate with other institutions, which have their role in the process of certificate of candidates. The CEC will submit lists to six institutions. At the Kosovo Judiciary Council, at PZAP, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Defence and the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence. Aimed to verify candidates under Article 29 of the Law for General Election. This requirement on the part of the CEC will be made as far as January 18th, while responses from these institutions are expected until January 20th,”, Elesi said.
