Although part of the electoral process, Osmani as a frontman of the task of one of the most important state functions enjoys the right to dismiss the CEC leader.
This is possible through Article 61.5 The Law for General Elections, which says that “The mandate of the CEC Chiefs or any members of the CEC can be interrupted through resignation or the president of Kosovo with immediate effect, under the circumstances when: d) the member behaves or acts in a way that seriously harms the status and integrity of the CEC”.
The withdrawal of Osman's warning, via a video message, came a day after not-serting the political subject list in which she competes, that of Vetevendosje.
The responsible for the country's first task has said, among other things, that if one more is abused by the CEC, it will be forced to take measures yesterday.
“I invite citizens to maintain caution and tranquillity to protect the integrity of the election process. I'm working closely with our partners to have their presence in this process. If we face such situations in which the CEC is abused to push forward party agendas on the part of CEC members, it will be forced to take all measures for the integrity of the CEC and the election process”, she has declared.
The period of complaints by parties not certified to the lists is envisioned to close by January 31st, so that the withdrawal of lots for the rankings of political subjects in the balloting of these elections will be possible on February 2nd.
Institutions where political subjects can be addressed are PZAP and the Supreme Court.
For early parliamentary elections to be held on February 14th, 28 political subjects have applied to the CEC, of them 21 political parties, 2 coalitions and 5 civic initiatives. No independent candidate has been submitted.
