The U.S. Congress confirmed the victory of President-elect Joe Biden.
The US Congress confirmed the victory of President-elect Joe Biden in the November 3rd election, following the count of Electoral College votes and the collapse of all objections by several Republican congressmen and senators, CNN reports.
The count of Vermont's three electoral votes placed Beden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on the 270 threshold needed to win the presidency.
The Senate and the Chamber refused objections to cast Georgia and Pennsylvania's electoral votes for Beden. Republicans also rejected the election votes of Arizona, Nevada and Michigan, but the motions failed before reaching the debate.
Certificate comes after pro-Trump protesters attacked the US Capitol early Wednesday.
The joint session of Congress, which is normally a ceremonial step, stopped for hours when protesters violated the Capitol.
The proceedings resumed with Deputy Chairman Mike Pence, bringing back the Senate session.
“Let's get back to work,” said Pence.
