US confirms NATO strengthening commitment

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed the US “commitment to strengthening NATO”.
U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price made a written statement about the telephone conversation between Secretary Blinken and Stoltenberg.
The statement reportedly agreed that Blinken and Stoltenberg agreed to start operations on the development of a NATO Summit of Leaders in the first half of 2021. “Secretary Blinken in conversation with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg underscored the Benden administration's commitment to strengthening and revitalising the transatlantic alliance” is said in the statement.
Blinken spoke with foreign ministers of France, Germany, Britain
Blinken has also held separate telephone conversations with Great Britain Foreign Minister Dominic Raab, Germany's Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
In talks with his European counterparts, Blinken has expressed the importance of the NATO alliance and the importance of bilateral relations between the US and those countries.
New US Secretary of State Blinken began his post after receiving approval Tuesday in the Senate.
