So the suspect, The IPKH has announced that the detention measure has been imposed for 48 hours.

“In this case, the IPK had arrested a police official on 28 .01 2021 on suspicion that the same had committed criminal work “mishandled during the exercise of official office”, while the same case by the prosecution has been decided to continue in regular procedure. Following some investigative actions in consultation with the competent prosecution, IPK investigators have arrested this police official today on suspicion that the same has committed criminal work “preventing proven” and the same has been assigned the detention measure for 48 hours”, the statement said further.

The IPK has also ruled on the suspension of two other police officials, one sergeant and another policeman.

“Under this investigation, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has recommended the suspension of both police officers (a police sergeant since the incident in 2018 was the supervisor of the suspect and another police official allegedly participating in the mistreatment). Further investigative actions concerning this case to clarify the circumstances of this incident will continue by IPK investigators in continued consultation with the prosecutor responsible, said further.

This police official is currently under investigation for another abuse case.
