Sources of Top Channel near special prosecutors in The Hague have learned that a call has been sent to interview as an informed person, Adem Shehut, former commander of the 153 Brigade, of the Llap Operative Zone.
The same sources in condition of anonymity told Top Channel that special prosecutors through a letter sent to the Ministry of Justice on December 14, 2020 wanted, conveying the call sheet to Adem Shehu to be interviewed in The Hague.
The anticipated date of the interview is January 28th.
A judicial police officer on January 15th 2021 has handed the call to the former UCK commander.
Adem Shehu is required to be interviewed for his activity as commander of the 153 Brigade and fighting conducted in the Galak area in Pristina.
Contacted over the phone by Top Channel Adem Shehu made no comment, stressing that he respects one of the points on The Hague's call not to communicate with the media.
Christopher Bennett's special prosecutor's voicemail to The Hague told Top Channel that the prosecutors' “cannot provide information about the investigation and specific individuals interviewed”.
Adem Shehu is originally from Farka in Tirana, and he served as an officer of the antiaircraft departments that protected Tirana after graduating from the United Officer High School in 1980.
In his native Farka, he organised combat exercises of fighters who came from Kosovo, from ethnic lands, and from Western countries.
The groups consisted of 25-30 people.
His residence, turned into a training center, into a “acdemi” military at Farka. When the war started, he instructed UCK leaders how to reduce losses during the fighting. He then fled towards Kosovo, and within a short time was placed at the helm of the 153th Brigade in the Llap area.
Its formation controlled one of the main roads where the Serbian Army could withdraw from Kosovo after the Ramboulging agreement. But due to frequent effective attacks on smaller formations, the Serbian Army changed direction.
The implementation of combat tactics that were the basis of the Albanian Army strategy became the reason for the success in fighting the brigade that Adem Shehu directed.
