Court of Appeals Chairman Hasan Shala has criticised the Kosovo Judiciary Council over the lack of judges. According to him, during 2020 they were carrying loads because some judges have retired and some have advanced, while their numbers have not increased on his request. At a media conference, Shala has also indicated the number of completed subjects and those in the process, adding that despite difficulties, they have managed to complete a large part of them.
Shala said that without the increase in the number of judges, there can be no efficiency.
The Judiciary Council is imprudent to me in this case because it has not appointed the judges that I have requested or the Quadrovic policy as I requested that eight judges be appointed to the civil division, one in the department for administrative affairs and one for the Department for Economic Affairs. Then we had to remove the problem with the Court of Appeals since the classes had to complete their maximum one and a half years, it is standard throughout Europe that second-degree subjects should not expect more than a year and a half [1]x1>, he said.
The request of the chairman of the Court of Appeals was that in 2020 the number of judges from 52 to 62, but says there was a deadlock in this direction and that last year worked and minus eight judges worked.
Because the court council has made about a year to make the selection of judges who have begun six judges, three assigned to special departments, two in general departments, and a judge of the Antijudgment Division. The biggest disaster is that in civilian right now we don't have any judges, that the most important number of judges has been here to increase since we've had materials, but cadrovic policy also leads the Judiciary Council, with which I often object because they haven't been quick with their actions when we have to replace or appoint new judges.
The president of the Court of Appeals indicated that by 2020 it was started with 19 corruption substances, while 69 were accepted during the year. Of them, he suggested that 68 have been selected.
In all, Shala said they were solved by 15 thousand and 48 subjects, out of over 25 thousand of what they had during 2020. Of them, 14 thousand and 219 materials were new in 2020, while 11 thousand and 640 materials have been old since 2015.
During 2020, 13 judges and 40 staff supporters have been affected by coronarys.
