Don't certificate candidates, CEC: We will await PZAP's decision

The Central Election Commission informed that political subjects -- those that were certified, but also those that were rejected -- have already been recognised by this institution's decision. This was made known by CEC spokesman Valmir Elez, who pointed to decisions that emerged from the marathon meeting the previous day.

The Central Election Commission has sent the relevant decisions to those political subjects who have been certified the candidate list for MPs, but subjects that the CEC refused to certificate their list. The reason for the decision has been given for refusing certificate. One of these reasons is that the Office for Registering Political Partys and Certificates has recommended in full opposition to Article 29, the letter of the law on general elections even after the announcement by the Kosovo Judiciary Council for the persons who have been sentenced by the court with a decision of form cut in the past three years”, Elez said.

Asked what the Office for Registeration of the CEC Political and CEC parties had requested from the Kosovo Judicial Council the Party Office, Elesi said the office among the nearly 10 institutions it has written was the KDR.

According to him, one of the three questions asked to this institution has been even if any of the 1,081 candidates fail to meet the criteria in Article 29 of the point, where it says that the candidate cannot be a person who is “convicted of criminal offence with a final court ruling in the last 3 years”.
