The Central Election Commission (KQZ), today, has operated the Call Centre, where 25 telephone lines are open that will make voter verification from outside Kosovo.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has said in Klan Kosova, that the process has so far gone very well.
So far, thousands of phone calls have been made to phone numbers that have been recorded by applicants. In the application, a eligible citizen will vote to be registered as voters outside Kosovo, including his telephone number. That phone number to CEC officials, you get it and you contact it according to instructions approved by the CEC. So a more detailed report, than the number of applicants we've contacted so far, we'll have it a little later in the evening”, Elez said.
According to him, the reason why the Central Election Commission has made such a decision is to verify voters' authenticity.
The period of voter registration abroad is currently under way in the CEC. The period has started on January 13th and ends on January 21st at 18:00, according to local time in Kosovo”.
The process that is happening here is the process of verifying applicants from abroad. The reason we decided this is about knowing and proving that behind a applicant lies a real voter and there is another person who intends to apply on behalf of someone else”.
