Kurt was sentenced in January 2018 for two criminal acts: use of weapons or dangerous means and obstructing the official during the official duty. These works described the actions of the Vetevendosje Movement for shedding tear gas into the Kosovo Assembly in 2015, as a result of which the LVV leader has been unable to run the election list.
Kosovo citizens will have to stand in elections for the second time within a year and a half. So has the Constitutional Court ordered on December 22nd through an act of judgment. This court had found irregularities in the Avdullah Hoti government vote, which took office in June.
The issue had been raised for review at the constitutionalisation by a group of deputies from the Vetevendosje Movement, which challenged the legitimacy of Etem Arifi's mandate, MP from the Ashkali People's Party for Integration. Arifi was eventually convicted of fraud to 15 months in prison in August last year, to be elected as deputy a month and a half later.
Vetevendosje has given no signal that it will accept such a decision by the CEC. /Periscope
