The UK currently tops the global list of higher deaths for 100,000 residents from COVID-19, this, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
The country reported the highest death toll ever Wednesday to a thousand and 820 new deaths reported daily, and has averaged about 1,000 and 240 new daily deaths over the last seven days.
Comparisons from country to country are imperfect, considering that they rely on data from each individual nation.
But the number of deaths recorded in the United Kingdom, with a population of 66 million, exceeds the record in other large countries, including the United States of America, on a per capita basis.
So far, the United Kingdom has reached 96 thousand and 166 total deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
Other countries with the highest per capita deaths:
United Kingdom: 142.53
Czech Republic: 140.91
Italy: 139,34
United States: 125,35
Spain: 117.80
