The US claims that document leaks had broken the law and endangered many lives. Mr. Assange has fought extradition, saying the case is politically motivated.
American authorities have 14 days to appeal the decision. That means Assang is not expected to be released from Belmarsh Prison in London where he is being held immediately.
The general impression is that of a man with depression and sometimes fearful of his future. The judge said.
Assange closed her eyes while the judge was reading her decision.
