A British judge denied the parole right for the founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assang, who will remain in a high-security prison while UK courts will decide whether he will be sent to the United States to face charges of spying.
American lawyer Clair Dobbin confirmed during a session at the Westminster Court that his team has appealed, which means its extradition issue will now be considered at the British Supreme Court.
Dobbin also said that Assang should not be released on bail because “ai has shown himself capable of doing anything to avoid extradition”.
He referred to seven years spent within the Ecuadoran Embassy in London, where he sought asylum to avoid a possible extradition to Sweden. Judge Vanessa Baraitser handed the verdict at the”Old Bailey” of London claiming she was concerned about the health of 49-year-old, while he is imprisoned in a prison in Southeast London, HMP Belmarsh.
