Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gjakova municipality has managed to realise 85 per cent of the planned budget over the past year by launching or continuing some important projects. As is all over the country, numerous businesses in the Gjakova municipality were affected by this situation, with cases of this category being divided into subsidies more than any other year.
The first of the Gjakova municipality, Ardian Gjini, in an interview has shown that despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, they closed it better than they had thought in the spring when the country was in total isolation as far as the work plan was being realised.
Djindin confirmed he will run for a second term at the helm of Gjakova, indicated they are also ready for the vaccine of citizens with anti vaccine - CO VID whenever it is secured from the central level.
Mayor Gyne indicated that in the first months of the pandemic show, April, May and June, there has been a drop in revenues for 90 per cent but that it has managed to recover in the following months. Speaking of spending the budget and returning taxes to investments, Djind said they have reached about 90% of the rescue.
“Gjakova is managing to realise the 85% budget, which is extremely good news because I'm saying once again that in April, May and early June, we've had a 90% decline in revenues but have recovered. We've had a problem with budget spending that is something very important because the means we harvest as taxes should go back to the public and business to arrive to operate and to have economic growth, and we're willing to approach 90% that is very good news. So in general the most serious part of this job is that we have had the loss of life of our fellow citizens, some health workers, and this part is uncompliable”, Djind told Kosovo Press.
Djind has also pointed to major projects in the Gjakova municipality that have started or continued over the past year as the one on the road center “Mother Teresa”, the city stadium, the new city heating, and the “Buyar Rocka” road project.
Ginny, speaking of businesses that were hit by the pandemic, has stressed that it has been impossible to do everything that has been necessary for them, however, said they have tried to help you according to the Communist budgetary capacities.
According to him, they have removed part of the taxes they have been granted by law, such as for the exploitation of public spaces.
So far, neither does the Gjakova municipality have any figures of workers who lost their jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and therefore the number of businesses that have eliminated their activity.
Djindi assured that the Gjakova municipality has shared more subsidies this year than in previous years.
The subx0> Businesses which are mostly hit are gastronomia, hotels, have been badly hit. We also have milk producers that have been hit, we have other businesses that have been hit. Fortunately, production, construction, health, as part of the business, other drugs have not been hit, even though indirectly they too suffer because of the damage to other businesses. The Gjakova municipality has allocated more subsidies than any other year, we have recently allocated another 200 thousand euros to businesses that have been hit. Let's not forget the shipping businesses have been hit hard, either by bus transport companies or taxis, they've been hit pretty hard. We've tried what was possible with you, with you found out, but it's definitely impossible to do all they needed to do for them”, it's been expressed to Djind.
Citizens are waiting for an anti vaccine. - CO The VID, for which the Government of Kosovo says it will ensure quickly, but whenever it comes to Kosovo, the Gjakova municipality will be ready to vaccinate its citizens.
If it is decided to include primary health in this process, then Djindjic says Gjakova has all the capacities to perform the vaccine due to the system he considers extraordinary.
“Vaxination is conducted at the national level -- namely, by the Ministry of Health and Regional Hospital of Gjakova -- is in regular institutional line with the Kosovo University Clinical Service and the ministry. We've worked extremely well with the hospital and the staff and I thank them for their work. As for the vaccine, however decisions are made at the central level, Gjakova has all the capacity to perform such a job because we have an extraordinary vaccination system and we have very devoted and professional workers in that service. So if Gjakova is willing to perform such a service depending on whether it is decided to take place at the Family Medicine Centres or in regional hospitals”, he said.
Djind for Kosovo Press indicated it targets another four-year term at the helm of the Gjakova municipality.
If circumstances are what they are so far, I'm preparing to issue the second candidacy, I'm also preparing with plans, colleagues and systems. We must all prepare. Now holding national elections puts us on hold for at least a short time because we all have to be guided by national elections and I think we're going to do well in Gjakova, I think we're going to be doing great. We're preparing for two choices, we haven't expected them, but we're preparing”, Djind indicated.
