Djuric, in an interview for the Serbian media media, has said [...]
Djuric, in an interview for the Serbian medium, has said his state must find representatives of the American administration to influence their view.
They are two important voices in American policymaking and it would be inconsistent to say their statements are not taken seriously, despite their official political functions. Both, Mr. Engel and Mrs. Albright, they have their reasons to position themselves against Kosovo, but the question is, if we cannot influence their views. We must find representatives in the American administration who will understand the Serbian position”, he said.
“We should not hope or expect that the United States will radically change their position about the issue of unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, but we can fight for the idea of reaching compromise solutions to gain greater support in the American administration”, Serbia's diplomatic representative in the US added further.
Engel and Albright have repeatedly defined as the main diplomatic recognition criteria of Kosovo from Serbia for membership in the European union.
