Montenegro's Special Prosecutor has concluded the investigation into the case filed following Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic's claims, that he was offered 21m euros not to oust President Milo Djukanovic's party from power. As reports “Vijest”, the prosecution has made a decision that there are no elements to initiate criminal procedures.
In late November, businessman Miodrag Daka Davidovic had indicated that there is information that someone tried to “blinte” Abazovici offering 21m euros to change the side after parliamentary elections on August 30th. He had said that Movement leader “URA” approached the money from a known humanist.
Abazovi later confirmed that he had been offered figures, but not making it public about who.
The “would be extremely inconsistent to say who offered it”, he said at “Vijesti” in December.
At that time he had told prosecutors to do their job without specifying whether to disclose the name of the person he claims to offer bribes to.
