About 40 thousand workers pending 900 euros, the ministry says there is no decision to issue them

About 40 thousand workers who have lost their jobs along the pandemic are awaiting 900 euros from the Finance Ministry. Even though the Law on Economic Regeneration has been voted, these tools have not yet passed into the accounts of these workers. From the Ministry of Finance, they are saying the government has not issued a decision requiring the MFU. [...]

It has been a month since the Law for Economic Repurchasing was passed. With the approval of this Law, the route has been cleared for the three-month division of 300 euros for private sector workers who have lost their jobs during the pandemic period. But that has not yet happened. Although the implementation of this measure was said to be necessary for the budget Law's adoption for 2021, the Ministry of Finance are saying these tools are not included in this Law, which was voted on December 28th.

Agim Krasniqi, deputy minister of finance, has said the tools that have been shared for the Pack for Economic Regeneration are not included in the Budget Law. According to him, not even 2m euros are included, according to Pakos, are expected to be shared by private sector workers who remain unemployed during the pandemic.

The “We Budget Law programme for Recovery has remained as originally sent by the Government. Only one position has been added, that of the vaccine at 40 million. All the other positions are like they were in Government. The allocation of 300 euros for three months for private sector workers who have remained unemployed has been promoted. These tools are not included at all in the Law on Budget”, he said.

According to Krasniqi, the finance ministry can only do it with specific government decisions.

The structure of these tools can only be issued with the release of certain government decisions, rather than for businesses and workers. So statements that 2m euros will be earmarked for workers left without jobs are not within the budget. Their separation can only be made with separate decisions”, he said of Express.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Azem, chairman of the Public Sector Workers Union, has told Express that pending these means are about 400,000 workers who have remained unemployed during the time of pandemic.

“A beneficiary of 3300 euros, can be 35-40 thousand workers according to our statistics. Otherwise, we had about 100,000 workers who were in the system this year and over 60 thousand workers would have no right to benefit because company owners didn't pay their contributions and have no employment contracts. These guys lose this right”, Azemi announced.

Meanwhile, Kujtim Gashi from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), who was the initiator of this move, said its implementation is in the hands of the Government.

Now this is the responsibility of the Government, since it has to implement the Pion”, Gashi said.

Express has also sent questions to the prime minister's office, but the same haven't answered them.

Under the bill, all private sector workers registered as unemployed who have been in working relations until September 2020, but since October 2020 have been released from the employer as a result of the government's influence of at least three to four months.

Also based on the bill, the grant will be established in many 200m euros, for direct financial assistance to businesses that have difficulty operating as a result of the COVID-19..
