Handmade sculpture, and titled Diva, was discovered by visual artist Juliana Notar on Saturday in a rural art park in the fields of a former sugar plantation in Pernambuco, one of Brazil's most culturally vibrent states.
In a Facebook post, Notar said that the vulva divided the hill aimed at “questioning the relationship between nature and culture in our phalocentric societies (based on the penis) and anthropocentic (based on man” and causing debate over “the problem of gender”.
“These times such issues have become increasingly urgent, the artist added to what seemed to be a criticism of even the intolerance climate in Brazil of President Bolsonaro, reports Guardian, translating Periscopi in Albanian.
The comment immediately sparked reactions from Bolsonaro's supporters.
Who do you think you're cheating on left? Except for idiots who don't see anything on the left, naturally,” wrote one.
However, many others responded positively to Notar's sculpture, which took 11 months to build. /Periscope
