Another big deal! President Trump made Serbia, Kosovo together
President Trump met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq and Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti at the White House on Friday, where leaders announced a historic commitment to economic normalisation between Serbia and Kosovo.
“Focusing on job creation and economic growth, the two countries were able to achieve a major breakthrough something no one thought would be possible“, President Trump said.
President Trump's administration has recently granted a number of key peacekeeping agreements. The agreement between Kosovo and Serbia follows just weeks after another major progress mediated between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
A major side benefit of the Serbia-Kosovo agreement, National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien said on Friday, is that it now allows “the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kosovo, a majority Muslim state and the state of Israel”.
In the Ovale Office, President Vuciq and Prime Minister Hoti thanked President Trump and his team for their commitment to peace and stability in the region.
“I expect to see Serbia and Kosovo prosper as we work together for economic co-operation in the region. Moving forward I expect to go to both countries one day in a not too distant future“, President Trump said.
