Adam Boehler, leader of the American International Finance and Development Corporation, has said that on 22 September of this year he will send a high-level delegation to open the body's office there.
He has said he has made that decision after the agreement reached 4 September between Kosovo and Serbia at the White House.
Boehler has said he will immediately start working on key economic normalisation projects.
Kosovo and Serbia on 4 September at the White House have agreed to implement a series of agreements already reached, such as the one for the highway between Kosovo and Serbia, the one for railways and airlines.
Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, in the presence of US President Donald Trump, have signed agreements on economic normalisation.
With this agreement, Kosovo has agreed that within a year it will not seek membership in international organisations, while Serbia on the other side has agreed that within a year it will stop the campaign to recognise Kosovo's independence.
Under the agreement, Kosovo will join “the mini-Schengen area”, which was created in 2019 and which already participate, Serbia, Albania and Northern Macedonia.
The deal also mentions Lake Weyman, which says the parties will work with the US Energy Department for a feasibility study, with the aim of joint use of the lake as a reliable supplier of water and energy.
Also, it is envisioned that Kosovo and Serbia accelerate efforts to locate and identify the remains of missing persons.
